Privacy Policy
Last updated September 23, 2026
This policy explains what Sky Studio, made by BrainFever Media, collects and why. The short version: your photos are sent out only when you press Replace Sky, we don't keep them, and we don't sell or share data for advertising.
What we collect
- An anonymous identifier. On first launch, Sky Studio creates a random identifier through Firebase Authentication. It isn't linked to your name or email. It's used to associate your credits and purchases with your copy of the app.
- Purchase records. When you buy credits or subscribe, Stripe processes the payment and RevenueCat manages the subscription and credit balance. We receive the purchase details and the email address you give at checkout. We never see your card number.
- Render records. For each render we log the identifier, the output size, timing, whether it succeeded, and a temporary link to the result. We use this to charge and refund credits correctly and to diagnose problems. We don't log your photo, the sky you chose, or any instructions you typed.
- Crash and diagnostic data. If macOS is set to share crash reports with developers, we may receive them through Apple. They don't include your photos.
Your photos
Sky detection and previews happen entirely on your Mac. When you press Replace Sky, a downsized copy of your photo and the selected sky image are sent to our AI provider, fal.ai, which runs the image model that produces the render. The provider processes the images to create the result and makes the result available at a temporary link; we then download it to your Mac. We don't store your photos on our servers. Providers may retain data briefly for abuse prevention under their own policies.
Renders you keep are saved to a folder on your Mac that you control.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show ads or share data with advertisers.
- We don't use your photos to train AI models, and we've chosen providers whose terms don't permit training on API inputs.
Services we rely on
- Firebase (Google) — anonymous identity, cloud functions, and our render log.
- fal.ai — hosts the AI image model that produces renders.
- RevenueCat — subscriptions and credit balances.
- Stripe — payment processing.
Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy. Data may be processed in the United States.
Retention
Render records are kept for up to 12 months for billing support and then deleted or anonymized. Purchase records are kept as long as required for accounting and tax. You can ask us to delete the data associated with your identifier at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can stop all data collection by not pressing Replace Sky; previews never leave your Mac. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. Since we can't tie an identifier to a person, you'll need to send it from the app (Settings → Account) so we can find your records.
Children
Sky Studio isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
